  1. Fantastic idea! This concept is just what I was hoping existed. Apparently, it does. Well done! I would love find other 5th grade classrooms to connect with in different parts of the world.

    Good luck with your launch!

  2. It’s great to meet colleagues from around the globe who share a common thirst to explore new ways of helping their students develop. I’ll be glad to be part of this community.
Our classes love to skype and share projects with their buddies around the world.
    We’re open to suggestions!

    • Hi Effie! I loved your work with the bilingual wiki!

You would be more than welcome to get involved in the #globalclassroom network – we have MANY teachers (all over the world) who would LOVE to skype and collaborate with you!

If you’d fill out our registration form, we can go from there 🙂

  3. Hi Michael,
Your word of praise is more than welcome as I’ve only been involved in web 2.0 exploration and blogging for the past two months. It’s worth every weekend and sleepless hour I spent though and great teachers like the ones in this community keep appearing. I just LOVE that!

Where do I find the registration form?

  4. I love The Global Classroom Project! Is this an ongoing project? I would be very interested in participating in something in the 2012/2013 school year.

    • Sure, we’d love to have you. If you fill out the registration form on our 2011-12 wiki, we’ll be in touch with information about our 2012-13 project. I’m currently on “leave” from #globalclassroom – we will resume in September 2012.

      Regards,

      Michael (@mgraffin)

  5. Wow! This is a great site I hope to be a part of. I study world geography with my 5th graders and would love to find pen pals to communicate with in other regions of the world. Hopefully this can help.

    • Hi Molly. The best way to find potential partners is to become a registered #globalclassroom teacher, and introduce yourself in our community spaces (e.g on Facebook). It may take a little while, but the results are worth it 🙂

  6. Good evening,

I run a small activity called Country Capitals Hunt which involves schools completing (in a friendly way) against each other to solve clues about capitals around the world. The registration opened October 1 and will close on October 18. There is both an entry level designed for upper elementary schools and an advanced level for high school students. Please consider joining us . You can find more about us at https://sites.google.com/site/huntforcountrycapitals/welcome-to-the-2013-country-capitals-hunt

    Thank you.

  7. I have designed an entire middle school course here at Schutz American School in Alexandria, Egypt. The course, called CONNECT, is based on Global Collaboration model. The goal of the class is to instill global citizenship in our students (mixed grades 6-8). We have launched this year and have some exciting plans in the works. I would love to share our experience and feedback.

  8. I would love to become involved in this project! I teach 4th Grade and I have been wanting to connect with classes all over the world to help expand the knowledge and experiences of my students!

  9. Hello All Teachers from around the world.

My name is Ivan and I am a youth worker at a Primary School in Australia. I am currently working with our School Captains who are in Grade 5 and 6 ( 11 and 12 year olds). I have an idea to go beyond just pen pal but to have a global project where all kids can participate. I was hoping to generate interest from any school from around the world who would like to take part.
The project will involve class students contacting other school leaders from other schools around the world in developing an Anti bullying message.
The aim of this project is to show kids that bullying and peer group pressure occurs everywhere in the world. Can you imagine 15 second video clips from schools around the world collaborated into one short 3min video on how they feel about bullying(can be in English or your own home language with English subtitles).

If this sounds interesting your school and students and you would like to participate please email me on Araujo.ivan.I@edumail.vic.gov.au
